Moving along with the plans to create traditional African cultural centers Yaya has purchased the perfect spot for the "Farafina Donia - A Surivival School for Traditional African Culture in Mali" center in Bamako, Mali. Fund raising is now of vital importance to construct buildings and put things in motion. Plans to create several centers in the USA will follow the "mother" center in Bamako. Yaya sees these centers as essential to transmit the music and culture to future generations as it seems the djembe along with its music and traditions is being butchered in the mass "appreciation" of this instrument. And possibly of even greater importance will be the attention paid to traditional African medicine.
